The Wrecking Crew – Documentary Review

This documentary chronicled the story of the Wrecking Crew – the backing band everybody went to for recording hit tracks during the 60s. They performed on tracks for Cher, Sinatra, the Beach Boys, etc. This movie was filmed by one of the children of a dead musician in his memory.

The movie was well produced, well edited, and had a good mix of everything a documentary should have, however I believe it could have helped if their had been more information rather than just interviews and footage. I believe this was a very good representation of a group not many people know because they were only used for the recordings, these artists were never taken on tour or shown to the public.

This documentary should be watched by all who love music. I would rate this movie a 7 out of 10.

Sunset Strip – Movie Review

This movie was a very laid back way of showing the lives of multiple fictional musicians, artists, creative people during one 24 hour period during the 70s in L.A. California.

I really like at times how this movie portrayed the lifestyle, the characters, and the scenery. They really knew just how to show the 70s to the masses. Hints at future endeavors and themes came up throughout the lines. The way the movie was written showed real passion and desire to make a movie that would speak to the creative people of the world, and show just how important this era was for music and the arts.

This movie cast some amazing actors from their early years in movies, actors such as Jared Leto. This movie was an amazing breakthrough at looking at the past. I would give this movie a 7.5 out of 10, and would recommend it to all the creative people out there.
