In Your Eyes – Movie Review

This movie was very well directed, casted, and produced. It was also edited just right. However, this movie was hard to get into from the start. The movie at times seemed very slow and not very entertaining. But when it picked up the climactic epic ending made up for everything else. If you want to watch this movie, take the time to watch through half the movie to wait for the ending. Its really worth it!

The story is about a man and a woman who have a telepathic bond on opposite ends of the country, but soon fall in love and meet up in an epic conclusion.

This movie had some great acting, and the plot was very well written. I would recommend this to anyone and would rate this movie a 9 out of 10.

Time out of Mind – Movie Review

This movie was not all bad, but not all good either. The basis of the movie is about a homeless guy trying to make his way in NYC. However, this movie seemed to drag on forever. The movie was two hours long and could have been reduced to about an hour and a half. A lot of scenes seemed to be very similar and nearly repeats of each other. I actually only kept watching it cos I thought there would be more of an epic ending. The ending was heartwarming, however could have been better. I guess it wasn’t all bad the movie was well directed and Richard Gere was a great role as the homeless man, however this movie could have been a lot better.

I would rate this movie a 5 out of 10.

Fat Kid Rules the World – Movie Review

This movie was very well directed and produced. However, the editing was very lack luster, the movie could have been a little shorter if it was edited correctly and more closely. I really believe this movie by the last scene was very well written. The movie’s tied up ends were resolved in the last 15 minutes of the movie.

The movie tells the story of an obese teenager who happens upon a poor street musician who saves his life when he walks in front of a bus. The street musician then proceeds to use him with the false gratifications and lies about performing in a band, etc. In the end the street musician overdosed and got sent to a psych ward to recover, while there he confesses that he was lying to the teenager and the teenager decides to set up a concert for them to perform their two only songs at.

This movie was funny and clever, I would recommend it to anyone who is the mood for a heartwarming and humorous movie. I would rate this movie a 7 out of 10.

The Road Within – Movie Review

I really enjoyed this movie from start to end. I highly recommend it and would watch it again. The story follows three strangers who meet in a rehabilitation clinic who escape from the clinic. The main character has torrette’s syndrome, another guy has OCD and is a clean freak, and the only girl has anorexia. This movie follows their road trip as they escape the clinic on the road to the coast. On their way they discover more about themselves on the road than in the clinic. The ending of the movie is also very heartwarming and the movie all ends happily. This movie was filmed well, the editing was amazing (everything in the movie was needed), and the acting was phenomenal (especially the dramatic scenes). This comedy/drama was both funny and moving, it always had you on the edge of your seat.

I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who has Netflix, and would rate it a ten out of ten.

Ellis – Movie Review

This short movie, directed by an anonymous director known only as JR, and written by Academy Award winner Eric Roth, is amazing and so moving. The movie tells the story of the many immigrants who came to the United States who had to go through the Ellis Island Immigration Hospital. The star and narrator of the movie is Academy Award winner Robert de Niro. The filming was amazingly done, the artistic elements of this movie were breathtaking, the writing of the narration and acting was extremely poetic and linguistic. This movie is only 14 minutes long, I recommend everybody who has Netflix to watch this movie, it really is inspirational. I give this movie a 9 out of 10, only because I wanted more information and more details/facts.

The One I Love – Movie Review

This movie was very different and was a well thought out movie with ever-changing twists and turns. This comedy was very well acted and written, and there was just the right amount of time for what the movie was trying to show. This movie could at times be confusing and jump a bit, but it was understandable for what it was trying to display.

This film shows how a married couple end up going on a retreat to help spice up their relationship, aided by the recommendation of their therapist. They find out that when they enter the guest room, another person who looks like them is in there but it isn’t their partner. After a while of trying to understand what is going on, they decide to share there time with the other “lookalike” from the opposite sex. Soon the other two people end up showing up in the main house, and after a whole host of complicated arguments and fights, the end of the movie is interesting and very clever.

I would recommend this movie for anyone who likes a movie that is complex, yet captivating. There are romantic and funny scenes, but overall this movie is meant to test the viewer and send them a message. Overall, I would rate this movie a 7 out of 10.

The Giant Mechanical Man – Movie Review

This movie started off kind of peculiar and very different, with the same old same old romantic comedy plot line. However, by the end of the movie I really got into it, and the plot line grew on me. This movie takes place in New York with a man who is a street performer and is looking for another job after his girlfriend leaves him. At the same time there is a woman who has just been fired from her temp company. Whilst all this is going on the man still performs as a silvery street performer throughout New York, even at times being introduced to the woman when she talks to him without him responding.

However, after a while they both find a job at the same zoo and start to get to know each other, with the woman still not knowing he is the street performer. Whilst this is happening the woman’s sister is trying to hitch her up with this jerk author, who is all about himself (you’ll remember him as the one of the main actors from That 70’s Show…). In the end it all works out for the best and the right couple are happy.

This movie really showed me that people can change over time, that love is an ever-changing emotion, and that seeing somebody for who they really are and what they stand for can make them such a better person.

I would recommend this movie to anybody who loves romantic comedies. I would rate this movie a 7 out of 10 overall.

Brick Mansions – movie review

This movie was really well made, planned out and the cast was great. This film had a wonderful cast and storyline. It was really written very well. It was simp!e to follow yet there were multiple twists and changes.

The premise of the movie was the mayor  believes that Brick Mansions, an under privileged area of Detroit, needs to be get rid of for lavish housing. So he makes a secret plan involving a cop, a drug lord, and a Brick Mansions resident. When the plan is found out and the members involved know he was only planning on removing the low income residential area. They devise a cunning plan to get back at him. The ending is great…

Overall this movie was great. I would recommend it to everyone. I would rate this movie a 9 out of 10.

The Humbling – Movie Review

This movie was at times confusing, however was well acted and well directed. This movie shows Al Pacino acting as an actor who is at the end of his career and has a drastic health issue on stage during a play he was performing in. He stopped performing as an actor as he recovered from his incident. During this time he starts dating a lot younger girl who he has known since her childhood and is allegedly a lesbian. At times he is seen throughout the movie acting like people are there and not, hallucinating and talking to himself.

This has to be one of my favorite movies with Al Pacino, he is seen in a role where he really shows his acting skills and ability to be moved by emotions and psychological issues. I really believe this is worth watching, but can be difficult at times to watch. I would rate this movie a 7 out of 10.

Cartoon College – Documentary Review

This movie was very well produced, directed, filmed, and chronicled. I really enjoyed watching this documentary from start to finish about a topic that I am very passionate about. This movie was based around the career of comic book writers and cartoonists. More specifically this movie was about the students at an art college in Vermont that specializes in cartooning.

This movie showed how the life of a cartoonist is one of grueling work, competition, and pain & suffering. This movie really showed how much work these people put in, and how little many of them get back. It really displayed how few get their big breaks with their comics and work. It takes time to make money in comics, it showed just how devoted these people were and how passionate they are in their careers.

I would recommend this movie to any comic book nerd, like myself, or any documentary lover also. I would rate this movie a 9 out of 10.
